What to Expect in the October 2024 WA State Nomination Invitation Round

As we look forward to the October 2024 invitation round of Western Australia’s State Nomination Migration Program (SNMP), several trends from the August and September rounds can offer insights into what might happen next. While nothing is guaranteed, these patterns can help you prepare if you’re considering migrating to Western Australia.

If you need expert guidance on navigating the SNMP, Green Wings Migration in Perth is here to assist you at every step.

What Are WA State Nomination Invitation Rounds?

WA State Nomination Invitation rounds are monthly events where the WA government invites skilled workers who have submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) to migrate and live in Western Australia. Invitations are prioritized based on a points system, with the highest-ranking EOIs receiving invitations first.

This system is designed to address WA’s labor market needs, which shift with each round.

Which Occupations Are Likely to Be Invited in October 2024?

The following sectors are expected to see continued demand, based on recent trends:

• Healthcare (Registered Nurses, General Practitioners, Social Workers): Invitations are likely to remain in the 85-90 point range.
• Engineering & Architecture: Due to ongoing infrastructure projects, expect these occupations to receive invitations with 85-95 points.
• Hospitality (Chefs, Cooks, Restaurant Managers): Hospitality continues to thrive, especially in regional WA. These roles could receive invitations with 80-90 points.
• Education (Primary & Secondary Teachers): Teachers might see invitations ranging from 85-95 points.

At Green Wings Migration, we specialize in helping professionals in these high-demand industries secure their future in WA.

Streams and Point Differences for October 2024

There may be point variations depending on the stream you’re applying for:

• Graduate & Vocational Education Streams: Expect lower points (65-80) for trades such as Cooks and Carpenters.
• General Stream (Schedule 2): Occupations like Teachers, Engineers, and Community Workers may receive invitations with 80-90 points.
• General Stream (Schedule 1): Higher points (85-90) will likely be required for healthcare professionals and medical roles.

Will Points Drop for Certain Occupations?

Based on recent rounds, some occupations—especially in hospitality and construction—could see a drop in required points. In September, roles such as Chefs and Restaurant Managers were invited with as low as 80 points, a decrease from 90 in August. If this trend continues, October might bring lower points for these sectors, giving more applicants a chance to receive invitations.

If you’re targeting these industries, Green Wings Migration can help ensure your application is competitive.

What Does This Mean for You?

Here are some key takeaways based on recent trends:

• Healthcare professionals: Keep your points above 85 to stay competitive.
• Graduates in hospitality or construction: You might receive an invitation with points as low as 65-80.
• Engineers, teachers, and social workers: Aim for at least 85 points to improve your chances.

If you’re concerned about your current visa or haven’t received an invitation yet, consider employer sponsorship as an alternative.

Sponsorship Options: Pathways to PR if You Haven’t Been Invited

If you haven’t received an invitation through the state nomination rounds, employer sponsorship is another valuable option. With a positive skills assessment, you may qualify for the following visas:

• 494 Visa (Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional): Ideal for those working in regional areas, offering a pathway to permanent residency after three years.
• 186DE Visa (Employer Nomination Scheme): If you meet the experience requirements (usually 36 months), you may be eligible for direct PR.
• 482 TSS Visa (Temporary Skill Shortage): A temporary solution for those who haven’t yet gained the necessary experience for permanent residency.

Green Wings Migration can help you explore these sponsorship options, ensuring you stay on track with your migration goals.

Final Thoughts: These Are Only Predictions!

While the trends outlined here are based on the August and September 2024 rounds, it’s important to remember that the WA government can adjust its criteria at any time. We recommend keeping your EOI as strong as possible by improving your points, whether through gaining more work experience, completing further qualifications, or improving your English proficiency.

If you need help boosting your EOI or exploring sponsorship options, Green Wings Migration in Perth is ready to guide you through the process. Contact us today to get started!

After almost 8 years in Australia, I can finally say that the long journey has been worth it! 190 visa granted!!! 😢😭

I started my Carpentry course back in 2022, and I’m very grateful to Green Wings Migration for helping me along the way.

A special thank you to Eleonora, who is very knowledgeable and guided me in the right direction from the beginning. She helped me understand the different pathways and what would be best for my situation.

I also want to thank Stefania, who was extremely professional, knowledgeable and always available throughout the whole process. She helped me with my 190 Skilled Visa application and was always there to answer my questions and guide me through every step.

Both Eleonora and Stefania are very well-prepared, experienced and honest migration agents. I always felt that I was in good hands and that they genuinely wanted to help.

It has been a long journey, but their support made the whole process much easier. I’m very happy with the service I received from Green Wings Migration and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for professional, honest and reliable migration agents.
