New South Wales has officially confirmed a new Subclass 190 Skilled Nominated visa invitation round scheduled for early March 2026, and this time, the state government has introduced a firm cut-off requirement for all Expressions of Interest (EOIs).

If you are seeking NSW state nomination in 2026, this announcement is critical.

Due to unprecedented competition this program year, Investment NSW has mandated that all EOIs in SkillSelect must be completely accurate and updated before invitations are issued.

At Green Wings Migration, we are urging candidates not to delay.

NSW 190 March 2026: What Has Been Announced?

Investment NSW confirmed that invitations for the Skilled Nominated visa (Subclass 190) will be issued in the first week of March 2026.

However, to ensure fairness and prevent inaccurate point claims, the government has implemented a strict deadline:

All EOIs must be updated by Close of Business (COB) Sunday, 1 March 2026.

If your profile is not current by this date, you may not be properly considered in this round.

Why Updating Your SkillSelect EOI Is Critical

Your Expression of Interest determines:

• Your points score
• Your occupation eligibility
• Your ranking against other applicants

If you have recently:

  • Completed a new English test
  • Gained additional skilled employment
  • Had a birthday affecting your age points
  • Updated partner qualifications
  • Received a new skills assessment

You must update your SkillSelect profile before the March 1 deadline.

Failure to do so can result in:

• Wasted invitations
• Visa refusal due to incorrect points claims

Remember: once invited, you must provide evidence supporting every point claimed.

NSW Skills List 2026: Check Before You Assume Eligibility

Investment NSW has also issued an important reminder:

Only occupations currently listed on the official NSW Skills List are eligible for nomination.

Even if you have 90+ points, you will not receive an invitation if your occupation is not active on the list.

Occupation lists are reviewed regularly and can change without notice.

Always verify your eligibility before relying on your EOI.

What You Should Do Immediately

If you want to maximise your chances in the March 2026 NSW 190 invitation round:

  1. Log into SkillSelect and audit every section of your EOI.
  2. Confirm your English test and skills assessment are valid.
  3. Recalculate your points carefully.
  4. Verify your occupation is active on the NSW Skills List.
  5. Ensure all claimed employment can be documented.

The NSW 190 visa remains one of the most competitive permanent residency pathways in Australia. Preparation and accuracy matter more than ever.
